Cultivating English Writing: A Joke

Let’s begin with something fun. This is a picture I saw on Professor Karen Chung’s Facebook. I found it really funny! It is true that this kind of misunderstanding sometimes happens around us.

就從一點好笑的東西開始吧。我在史嘉琳老師的臉書上找到這張圖，看起來超歡樂的。這種誤解的確有時候會發生XD

Today’s result of touch typing is not very good, if I must say. Maybe I can comment on today’s practice a little. First, at the beginning, I tried to read the content aloud at the same time, which made it easier to make typos. Second, I was not very focused. In fact, I came up with a new idea to write my 30-day challenge (which involves trying to write in English) while I was touch-typing. I think that is why I did not perform well this time.

要我說的話，今天的英打練習不是非常好。一開始我還打算一邊唸出來一邊打字，結果反而更容易打錯字；接下來我又在打字時不夠專心，突發奇想打算接下來的每日寫作練習試試新的方式（就是用英文寫啦）。結果就是這次練習效果不佳。

Thanks to ChatGPT. I used it to correct, edit and revise today’s English writing, and it was really helpful.

多虧了 ChatGPT，我用這個東東來訂正、編輯以及修改今天的英文寫作，真的挺有用的。

這句 ChatGPT 叫我訂正。在美式英文中，

correct, edit and revise

and 前面也要加上逗號，如下所示：

但是我是梅姨粉絲，這段時間也或多或少在接觸一些英式英文，所以決定保留英式用法不改啊哈哈！
